The theme for this year’s Elder-Pastor Retreat is based on the Apostle Paul’s instruction to the New Testament elder, “He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it” (Titus 1:9, NIV).
In uncertain and challenging times, elders and pastors need to focus on encouraging what is good, healthy, and sound. They also must be prepared to expose and refute what is bad, unhealthy, and unsound. We pray that your leadership team will be encouraged and strengthened by attending this one-day event
Our keynote speaker, Doug Marshall (Valley Christian Church), will lead us through ways that pastors and elders may help others work through conflict. You will gain insight and learn methods for helping people in the church better resolve conflicts. Then, we will have breakout groups on how elders and pastors may respond effectively to discouragement, divisiveness, and distraction in the church, led by Derek Voorhees (Boise Bible College) and two other (TBA) presenter/facilitators. In this one-day conference, your elder/pastor team will be encouraged and equipped to lead the church more effectively.
